The joys of Training

We've recently started the task of potty training. So far it's going pretty well. Not great, but well enough. We've been using the potty chart system which seems to be yielding some results. Myles really likes getting the stickers after he "goes" and I like it because he gets some kind of reward without me filling my house with tons of dollar store toys or overloading him with treats.

We put the charts on the bathroom door and recently Myles finished filling up every last one. He did get a new car for getting so many stickers and like a good mom I actually remembered to take a picture to mark the occasion. The picture really doesn't show all of the hard work that he's accomplished. It only shows 4 of the charts that he filled. Really there are 6 or 7 I think. It filled the whole length of the door. I'm so proud of what he's done. Now for the next step, this weekend I'm going to attempt to go from pull-up straight to underwear. Wish me luck!

My Little Reader

I'm so proud at the moment. Myles read his first word on Tuesday!!! What might that word be you ask...it was ZOO...I know not a hard one to figure out, but for a 2 year old I think it's a pretty big thing. We were reading Goodnight Gorrila on Tuesday night and he pointed at the word, ran his finger across it and said "zoo" I was and am so happy that he's learning so fast, He may not know why it says zoo, but he knows that it does and for me that's a big thing!!!

We had an exciting event happen in our house over the last week. Myles was playing hide and seek with his cars last Saturday. This is a game that Logan taught him and now he plays by "himself" all the time. Anyway, he told his cars to hide on the table while he ran to the wall and started counting, he counted all the way to 10!!! No help, just started and bam... After that he wouldn't do it again because he knew we were listening, but there it was, my baby counting to ten. To make it better, Monday he was crashing his monster trucks and counted to 12!! What!? I didn't even know he knew how to get that high. Crazy!!
