Saturday I was able to have a really cool experience. My sister and I, along with some people from my work, participated in the Race for the Cure, Breast Cancer Awareness 5k walk/run. My sister and I walked it with Myles in the stroller. I have to be honest at first I wasn't to sure I could do it. I figured I'd make it the first mile and then turn around because I couldn't make it any further. Since that's how I am when walking in my neighborhood. Turns out it wasn't bad at all. We finished the whole thing in about 45 min or so and had a great time too. Myles did such a great job. I was weary that he would be ok with sitting the whole time, but he didn't seem to mind at all. After we got done he was able to play in a bounce house and run around a bit before falling asleep in the car. We also got to ride the trax which he loved and which I also just realized that I didn't take any pictures of...duh!!
I have to say that after participating I feel so blessed that I haven't had to experience going through knowing someone who has suffered with this disease. there were so many people walking in memory or in honor of people and even multiple people, and so many survivors walking as well. To know that I haven't been personally effected it such a blessing.
I will defiantly be doing more walks in the future and who knows maybe I'll even get in shape enough to run part or all of one. I wouldn't hold your breath though. :oD
